installations. My works often have no fixed form; they can change, move, fold in and out, disappear, and reappear. I see this process as a metaphor for the temporary nature of everything around us. A central starting point in my work is my personal archive, which contains family photographs, glass slides, and images of historical events. Buildings, aircraft, and historical narratives recur in various ways throughout my work. Each of these elements carries its own identity and meaning, demonstrating how different aspects of human life are interconnected. This is expressed through a wide range of media, including sculptures, spatial installations, photographs, videos, and public-space projects. The autonomous works that originate in my studio are inseparably connected to the projects that arise from public-space interventions. Het project kwam tot stand tijdens de coronapandemie. Alles werd anders, we moesten afstand houden, mochten elkaar niet aanraken, niet knuffelen en geen handen schudden. Vanuit de overheid kregen we het advies om onze handen stuk te wassen. Tijdens de persconferenties is er veelvuldig gesproken in statistieken en ‘aan de hand’ van de cijfers. Hands are significant body parts, they work and care, caress and push, greet, pray and gesture. The project came about during the corona pandemic. Everything changed, we had to keep our distance, were not allowed to touch each other, not to hug and not to shake hands. During press conferences there was a lot of talk in statistics and on the basis of the figures. The project shows that these hands are indispensable, that we are all connected and cannot live without each other. Due to its geographical location this is also the highest point of Venlo. This monumental chimney is a symbol of the manufacturing industry and its history, but has not had any function apart from that until now. 31 Lashing straps of the chimney have been provided with LED lights. Each light strap can be programmed separately. This way colour stories are created, communication at a ‘high’ level. The chimney has been given a new function as a communication tool. This city icon functions as a barometer of the city. With it, the artists want to increase social involvement, awareness and recognisability of the city for young and old alike, giving off a positive signal. The project will comprise a sculpture, a registration on paper and a video. Sometimes a photo presents itself, as was the case with this one. It is a beach photo on which we are posing. A recognisable scene on the beach with the endless sea in the background. I will strip this photo of its context and abstract the family into a monochromous silhouette. The silhouette of plywood is divided into square surfaces. These can be folded into a square parcel in a certain way. This parcel can be stored in a tailor-made box with two portholes. The process of folding and storing signifies preserving and cherishing but also travelling and letting go. Innovatoren Venlo Stadskantoor Venlo&nbsp; Molenbossenflats Blerick&nbsp; Schoorsteen Wienenberger Tegelen&nbsp; Kerk Kaldenkirchen Connecting Light shows that there are connections everywhere, not only between buildings but also between people and the landscape. The artist want to send out a positive signal with this. We are part of a larger whole and cannot exist without each other. The landscape is a dynamic domain with an infrastructure of bridges, roads and railways. A domain with a past, a present and a future which changes with time. Connecting Light enters into a dialogue with the environment. In its static appearance, the stillness of the line is a counterpart to our hectic existence. A walking route is part of this project. You can follow the line of light through the landscape during the dark hours: a live experience. As a spectator you become part of the art work.
